As part of the international event โTrees for the Worldโ, LIFE IP AZORES NATURA promoted the planting of about 400 individuals of endemic species and the placement of 400 individual protection tubes in Lagoa do Negro, the project’s area of intervention on the island of Terceira.
In this voluntary action, were used endemic species produced in the Faial Botanical Garden, among them: ๐๐ณ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ด ๐ข๐ป๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ข, and produced in forest nurseries on Terceira, such as the ๐๐ญ๐ฆ๐น ๐ข๐ป๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ข.
In the intervention area where the activity took place, a large amount of exotic and invasive species has recently been removed, mainly ๐๐ถ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ด ๐ถ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ช๐ง๐ฐ๐ญ๐ช๐ถ๐ด, but also ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ๐บ๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ถ๐ฎ ๐จ๐ข๐ณ๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ๐ถ๐ฎ, ๐๐บ๐ข๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ข ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช and ๐๐ณ๐บ๐ฑ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ข ๐ซ๐ข๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ข.
This activity of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, within the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, was carried out in partnership with the Regional Council of the National Scout Corps (CNE – Corpos Nacional de Escuteiros) and attended by 90 participants, including Scouts and their families.
