Last July, the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, through the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, reinforced 272 individuals of the Angelica lignescens species. The plantations were made in two areas of the NATURA 2000 network. The first area with 150 individuals, in the Furnas do Enxofre/Pico do Sanguinhal complex and the second with 122 individuals, on the slopes of Rocha do Chambre.
The individuals were produced at the Faial Botanic Garden, using the germination of seeds previously collected from natural populations on Terceira island, in a conservation action under the responsibility of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project (action C3.2 – In-situ conservation).
