As part of action C2.1 – Internal training, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project organised a course on drones (UAs) – mission planning and execution by pilots and the processing of images captured by the drone.
In this way, practical training was given in the mandatory manoeuvres corresponding to “A2 Practical Self-Training”, following European Union regulations, with 16 trainees taking part in the different modules, namely Park Rangers and technicians from the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change (SRAAC), the Regional Directorate for Maritime Policies (DRPM) and the Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds (SPEA).
This 13-day certified training course aimed to enable workers to operate drones and analyse the results. The practical component took place on the islands of Flores, Terceira, São Miguel and Pico.
