Last April, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project attended the Flores Nature Park Advisory Board to present the status of the project’s conservation work on this island and other strategic actions covering the island of Flores and plan upcoming actions.
It should be noted that this year, work has progressed on controlling invasive alien species in the Caldeira Branca intervention area, specifically the species Hedychium gardnerianum (Kahili Ginger), with more than 2 tonnes of biomass having been removed.
LIFE IP AZORES NATURA’s participation in the Consultative Councils of the Island Natural Parks is part of action F4 (Stakeholder Consultative Council) of the project. It is an essential tool for the consultants to monitor the management and implementation of the actions on each of the islands.
