During February, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, in collaboration with the Pico Environment and Climate Change Service, removed invasive species, namely Kahili Ginger (Hedychium gardnerianum), on the Meia Encosta Path, in the Caveiro intervention area.
Whenever necessary, and in order to ensure greater success of population reinforcements, namely the Lactuca watsoniana individuals that were planted in this area, various control and eradication works are carried out on existing invasive alien species, in line with the measures planned under actions C3.2 – In-situ conservation, C4.1 – Good practices for the conservation of terrestrial habitats and C8.1 – Control and eradication of invasive alien species (IAS) of flora in terrestrial habitats.
