Last May, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project organised the “Together for the Future of Our Natural Heritage” activity at the Escola Básica e Integrada do Canto da Maia, an exhibition presenting some of the project’s target species and its objectives and intervention areas.
This activity was aimed at the school’s 5th-grade students and was attended by 32 students and teachers.
The LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project also has an environmental education component. Its aim is to publicise the project to the school community and raise awareness of the need to preserve the unique natural heritage present in the Azores by presenting actions that are being developed within the project’s scope.
Since its creation, LIFE IP AZORES NATURA has organised more than 550 environmental education activities, with 11,218 people participating.
